PatientIQ, a leader in patient outcomes collection and analysis, announced the appointment of Erik Johnson as Vice President of Marketing. With more than 20 years of experience driving growth for technology, healthcare, and business-to-business organizations, Johnson will oversee PatientIQ’s strategic marketing and external communication initiatives.
“Throughout my career, I have been drawn to opportunities where I can help build teams, scale businesses, and share powerful stories,” said Johnson. “PatientIQ is uniquely positioned to transform care delivery as we know it, and I am excited to help spread that message to the masses.”

Most recently, Johnson was head of Product Marketing for Verato and previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer for Vigilanz, both business-to-business healthcare technology companies. Johnson also held marketing and business leadership roles in the healthcare divisions of Wolters Kluwer and 3M. At PatientIQ, Johnson will lead the strategy and execution of its brand and product marketing, client communication, and demand generation efforts.
Johnson joins PatientIQ following the company’s $20M Series B raise, the addition of John Gerhardt as Chief Technology Officer, and the continued rapid procurement of real-world evidence, private practice, and enterprise health system customers, such as University of Colorado Medicine and UAB Medicine.
“We are committed to adding the industry’s top talent to our company to support this chapter of growth,” said Matthew Gitelis, CEO, PatientIQ. “Erik’s expertise in expanding brands and businesses will enable PatientIQ to better communicate the power of patient outcomes data and the breadth of our best-in-class offering.”
The cloud-based PatientIQ platform automates the collection, measurement, and analysis of patient-reported outcomes data and leverages a proprietary analytics engine to transform that data into actionable intelligence. Healthcare organizations utilize its insights to benchmark performance, identify best practices and areas of opportunity, and conduct research to push medicine forward. In addition to data analysis, the PatientIQ platform facilitates collaboration, bringing together data-driven clinicians from across the country.
