Digital marketing agency Mad Fish Digital is acquiring brand-building marketing agency Grady Britton. Together, they will provide end-to-end marketing and communications solutions for accelerating business growth and audience connection for mission-minded clients.
Founded in 2006 to serve B2B and B2C clients in a variety of industries, Mad Fish Digital develops complete digital marketing solutions using cutting-edge digital advertising technologies, SEO and analytics. Owners Ben and Corrie Herman sought out a strategic partnership that would expand on Mad Fish Digital’s values-based, ethical marketing systems and digital services, and found the perfect fit in Grady Britton.
For nearly 50 years, Grady Britton has specialized in strategic brand development and expression under its mission, “Leave Today Better Than Yesterday.” Co-owners Paige Campbell and Andy Askren have built a full-service model fueled by award-winning creative, brand and content strategy, media planning and buying, and public relations. With very little overlap in services, the two agencies will provide clients with a full suite of integrated marketing and communications expertise.

“The talent and work that has been created at Grady Britton is second to none for thoughtfulness, innovation, impact, and creativity,” says Mad Fish CEO Ben Herman. “From our perspective, combining Mad Fish and Grady Britton, an agency also committed to making real change with their work, has the greatest potential for savvy clients to make lasting impact in their categories. Our business approaches align unusually well and has us confident and excited about the rewarding work this union will inspire for our collective teams, clients and communities.”
Both agencies are certified B Corporations, sharing a commitment to the triple bottom line that values people, planet, and profit. Grady Britton was the first Portland creative agency to be certified in 2015, with Mad Fish following in 2018.
“After getting to know Ben and Corrie, it was clear that our businesses and cultures were aligned on a mission to be a force for good, and with the expanded services we are both now able to offer, we believe that combination will resonate with a wide number of great brands,” says Paige Campbell of Grady Britton.
With Mad Fish and Grady Britton combining under the ownership of Corrie and Ben Herman, the agencies will operate as strategic partners in the near term with Paige Campbell staying in the role of President at Grady Britton, and Andy Askren as Creative Director. The acquisition will bring together a combined team of 46 people distributed over 10 states and headquartered in Portland.
Over the next year, agency leaders will seek out operational efficiencies and other opportunities to integrate business processes behind the scenes, while continuing to deliver results for clients and supporting employee career development.
