Developed through the collaboration between Gestmusic and Amplify, KAI will open dedicated trial environments for production teams to explore AI-assisted storytelling with their own content and workflows. KAI will debut its dedicated production trial environments with EIT Culture & Creativity at IBC2026.

KAI, the AI-powered storytelling platform developed by Spanish television production company Gestmusic and media AI specialist Amplify, will take a major step forward at IBC2026 in Amsterdam, 11–14 September, where it will exhibit with EIT Culture & Creativity in Hall 14,Future Tech, stand 14.FT109.

For the first time, production teams will be able to request dedicated KAI trial environments for their own productions, allowing them to experience the platform using real content, real editorial challenges and real production workflows.

Teams from Gestmusic and Amplify will be present at IBC, bringing together production expertise and technology around one shared objective: exploring how AI can become genuinely useful within professional storytelling workflows.

KAI connects content understanding, story creation and editing into a single narrative workflow, helping production teams reduce the time spent searching through footage, logging material and manually rebuilding stories from notes and timecodes.

KAI, tested on your production

IBC 2026 marks an important new stage for KAI: moving from demonstrations to real production environments. Production companies will be able to request a KAI environment adapted to their own projects and evaluate the technology against the challenges that matter to them.

Whether working with entertainment, factual, reality, documentary or other content-intensive formats, teams will be able to explore how KAI can help them understand large volumes of footage, discover relevant moments, develop different narrative approaches and move those decisions closer to the edit.

Instead of asking production teams to adapt their workflows to AI, KAI is designed to adapt AI to the realities of each production. This means moving beyond generic demonstrations. Teams can work with their own audiovisual material and assess where AI can create practical value throughout their storytelling process.

From raw footage to story

Production workflows are often fragmented: logging happens outside the edit, story decisions live in documents or chats, and editors spend hours rebuilding structure manually from notes and timecodes. That disconnect creates rework, delays and misalignment between editorial, story and post.

KAI addresses this by connecting three stages into a single narrative workflow-from understanding footage to delivering a cut:

  • Footage understanding at scale: Automatically indexes large volumes of content into searchable, reusable story elements, reducing manual review and making key moments easier to find and share.
  • Earlier alignment across teams: Gives story, editorial and post a shared space to explore angles and agree on narrative direction sooner-reducing iteration loops late in post.
  • Faster delivery with less rework: Converts approved story structures into edit-ready builds for the NLE, shortening the path from decisions to deliverables and improving consistency across versions.

AI storytelling inside the editing workflow

At IBC, KAI will also showcase a fully functional extension panel integrated directly into Adobe Premiere Pro, bringing AI-assisted storytelling into the editor's daily workspace. Rather than jumping between tools, users can stay in Premiere Pro and use KAI to move from raw footage to an edit-ready structure faster.

Through the panel, editors and producers can:

  • Search and navigate footage in context using AI-generated structure (moments, topics, beats) without leaving the NLE.
  • Generate story options on demand with natural-language prompts (summaries, story angles, character-led cuts) and refine them instantly.
  • Turn ideas into an edit by sending selects and story structures directly into the timeline-starting closer to a first cut and spending more time on craft.

A European collaboration driving innovation

KAI has been jointly developed by Gestmusic and Amplify within a European innovation project supported by EIT Culture & Creativity, with research collaboration from Fraunhofer IPK. The solution also incorporates an advanced artificial intelligence analysis core developed by Ugiat Technologies, S.L., strengthening KAI’s technical foundation.

“Being fully aware of the growing creative and operational challenges faced by productions working with large volumes of content, this project has been supported by EIT Culture & Creativity to help make KAI a reality,” said Miquel Garcia, Head of Postproduction at Gestmusic. “By combining Gestmusic’s deep knowledge of storytelling with advanced AI capabilities, we are launching a tool that empowers creative teams while fully respecting the human nature of the creative process.”

Aaron Lopez, CEO at Amplify, added: “We are extremely proud of our partners involved in this project and of the innovative scope of KAI. It represents a major step forward in making AI genuinely useful for content creators. KAI doesn’t replace creativity, it amplifies it, turning raw footage into an intelligent, conversational asset that works at the pace of modern production.”

Experience KAI at IBC 2026

From IBC onwards, production companies interested in KAI will be able to request a dedicated trial environment for their production, allowing creative, editorial and post-production teams to explore the platform with their own content and workflows.

KAI is designed around the realities of production cycles, with licenses and subscriptions that can adapt to each project’s duration, intensity and workflow rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all software model.

At IBC2026, KAI will exhibit as part of EIT Culture & Creativity's presence in the Future Tech Innovation Village, alongside 20 other European start-ups and EIT Culture & Creativity strategic partners.

Visitors can experience KAI at IBC 2026, September 11–14, Hall 14 – Future Tech, booth 14.FT109, where teams from Gestmusic and Amplify will be available throughout the show. To request a KAI trial environment, book a demo or arrange a meeting during IBC, visit https://www.kaistories.io.
