Avaya has appointed Jeff Clarke as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Patrick Dennis, who will transition to the role of Executive Chair. The leadership change comes as the company continues to strengthen its enterprise communications portfolio and accelerate innovation across customer experience and AI-powered solutions.

Clarke brings more than three decades of leadership experience across enterprise software and technology companies. Prior to joining Avaya, he served as CEO of Insurity and previously led organizations including Doxim and Travelport. His career also includes senior executive roles at CA Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, and Compaq, giving him extensive experience in scaling technology businesses and driving operational transformation.

The transition follows a period of strategic progress under Patrick Dennis, who helped guide Avaya's transformation by expanding customer engagement initiatives, launching new platforms such as Avaya Infinity and Avaya Nexus, and advancing the company's AI capabilities. As Executive Chair, Dennis will continue supporting the company's long-term strategic direction while Clarke assumes responsibility for day-to-day leadership.

Organizations are seeking solutions that combine digital engagement with human interactions, making innovation and operational excellence key competitive differentiators.

For technology companies operating in the customer experience (CX) market, executive leadership plays a critical role in balancing product innovation, customer success, and business growth. As enterprises continue modernizing contact centers and communications infrastructure, experienced leadership will be essential to delivering scalable AI-enabled solutions.

Leadership transitions such as this reflect the broader evolution of the enterprise software industry, where companies are aligning executive expertise with long-term innovation strategies. Avaya's latest appointment signals its continued focus on strengthening customer relationships while expanding its position in the rapidly evolving AI-powered communications market.
