The appointment comes as India's digital advertising market continues to evolve across programmatic advertising, connected TV, data-driven targeting, and measurement. As media buying becomes more technology-led, client-facing teams increasingly need to understand both the commercial objectives of advertisers and the operational realities of digital media platforms.
Shetty has also highlighted The Trade Desk’s focus on an open and transparent internet as an area of interest in his move.
His transition from Magnite to The Trade Desk also reflects the movement of experienced adtech professionals between major players in India's digital advertising ecosystem. Such roles increasingly combine relationship management with knowledge of demand-side platforms, partnerships, data, and evolving media technologies.
For the broader MarTech and AdTech industry, Shetty’s appointment highlights the growing importance of client servicing as digital advertising becomes more fragmented and technology-driven.
His new position comes at a time when advertisers and agencies are seeking greater clarity around media investments, audience strategies, transparency, and measurable outcomes across an expanding range of digital channels.
