Partner Upload gives broadcasters and streaming services a secure, controlled way to receive promotional assets from production companies and other external partners.

Clipsource will introduce Partner Upload at IBC 2026, a new feature designed to address a persistent weakness in promotional workflows: while finished programming is typically transferred through highly controlled delivery systems, associated promotional assets, including trailers, stills and key art, are still frequently exchanged through email, shared drives and open links.

Partner Upload enables broadcasters, streaming services and entertainment companies to receive press and promotional material directly from external suppliers in a secure, controlled environment.

In a series of in-depth interviews conducted by Clipsource with producers and heads of development at European production companies, several respondents described current practices as both inefficient and potentially insecure.

“We need to look at how we actually transfer files to customers. It’s not good, the way we do it today. It’s not okay to do it via email.” - Producer, European production company

Another producer described how a promotional video shared externally can remain accessible indefinitely: “The files keep staying up there. There’s no time limit on the links. And the person we sent it to can pass that link on to everybody.” - Producer, Nordic production company

At the same time, the interviews highlighted the opposite problem: secure delivery processes are increasingly complex because suppliers face different systems and requirements for every customer.

“Whenever a buyer wants a file, they send you 24 pages on how to deliver it. Then they change system and you have to learn it again. It’s not optimal right now.” - Producer, Nordic production company

According to Clipsource, this friction can itself become a security risk.

“When there’s a hurdle to getting something from here to there, people tend to choose the easy way, and forget about security,” said Johan Wiklund, Chief Product Officer at Clipsource.

Secure upload without the complexity

With Partner Upload, a broadcaster or streaming service can invite an external supplier - such as a production company, ad agency or photographer - to upload material directly into its press environment.

The customer controls which external partners have access and which areas they can upload to. Partners create an account, sign in and upload files through a simple drag-and-drop interface. Files are encrypted in transit, processed automatically and delivered directly into the customer's workflow, with relevant administrators notified when new material arrives.

Access can be granted or withdrawn at any time, keeping unreleased content from sitting indefinitely on external links. It also eliminates the manual process of receiving files via email or file-sharing services, only to download and re-upload them into the systems where they are actually needed.

“The bigger picture is to make secure collaboration between media companies and their external partners as simple as the workarounds people use today. Security works best when it doesn't create extra work. Our ambition is to remove that friction while giving customers greater control over where their content lives and who can access it,” said Johan Wiklund, CPO of Clipsource.
