InMobi Advertising Upgrades Consent Management Platform to Help Publishers Navigate Privacy Regulations
On October 23, 2024, InMobi Advertising, a leading player in content monetization and marketing technologies, introduced the next generation of its InMobi Consent Management Platform (InMobi CMP). This self-service solution allows publishers to easily comply with fast-evolving global privacy regulations. InMobi CMP stands out as the most comprehensive privacy management tool for mobile publishers, enabling them to navigate the complex privacy landscape with ease.
With privacy regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in the U.S. continuously evolving, InMobi CMP equips publishers with the tools to build user trust, increase ad revenue, and ensure compliance. The platform now supports the Global Privacy Platform (GPP) and offers enhanced customization options for apps developed with Unity.
Key Features of the Update:
Global Privacy Platform (GPP) Support: InMobi CMP now supports GPP for all websites and apps (Android, iOS, and Unity). By implementing GPP, publishers can align with the Multi-State Privacy Agreement (MSPA) framework in the U.S., ensuring compliance with regulations from five states: California (CCPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), and Virginia (VCDPA).
UI Customization for Unity Apps: In addition to existing customization features on the InMobi CMP dashboard, publishers can now tailor their consent models for any app they create, including those built on Unity. This new feature allows publishers to modify the color schemes and font styles of all UI elements in consent prompts, ensuring a smooth integration within the app. By enhancing user experience with these customization options, publishers can significantly boost their consent rates.

“Consumers are increasingly aware of their data rights, and InMobi Advertising has always been at the forefront of developing solutions that help brands and publishers navigate the complex global privacy landscape,” said Abhay Singhal, CEO of InMobi Advertising. “For publishers, robust consent management practices like InMobi CMP signal transparency and a commitment to user privacy, fostering trust and engagement. By prioritizing user experience and improving consent rates, publishers can attract more advertisers interested in consented traffic.”
A recent survey by InMobi Advertising revealed that over 87% of mobile users believe their privacy should be protected by mobile apps, yet only 42% feel that apps actually do. Bridging this gap is crucial for mobile publishers, as 77% of respondents indicated that their trust in an app influences their likelihood of making in-app purchases.
“At BrainWave Games, we are dedicated to prioritizing user privacy while tackling the challenges of ever-changing regulations,” said Mia Chen, CEO of BrainWave Games. “It’s about more than just compliance; it’s about building user trust. Our consent management process emphasizes user experience, making it easy to understand and use while seamlessly integrating with our app design.”
Implementing a consent management platform is essential for protecting website and app visitors’ information and building their trust. InMobi CMP promotes data transparency and empowers users to control their own data. By providing users with options to adjust their data permissions at a granular level, it reinforces a commitment to transparent data relationships and helps users feel in control. Designed for a seamless and non-intrusive consent process, CMPs enhance the overall user experience, prioritize privacy, and offer clear data consent options. This approach helps businesses create positive user experiences, leading to higher satisfaction and trust.
