Adobe to Acquire Topaz Labs to Strengthen AI-Powered Creative Workflows

Adobe has signed an agreement to acquire Topaz Labs, which is one of the leading software providers that uses AI-based algorithms to enhance images and videos. This strategic move aims to strengthen the company’s offerings in the area of creative AI and further develop its capabilities in professional content creation. The products provided by Topaz Labs will become part of Adobe’s platform and include technologies of image upscaling, sharpening, stabilization, frame interpolation, noise reduction, and footage restoration.

This acquisition is made at a time when creatives and businesses are blending the conventional forms of content generation with AI-produced content and demanding higher quality output in multiple formats from different production platforms. One of the major strengths that Adobe has gained in this acquisition is the ability of Topaz Labs to optimize complex AI models to execute them locally via Neurostream technology. Adobe has also announced that the products offered by Topaz Labs would still be available in the form of standalone products after this acquisition, whereas the management team of Topaz Labs headed by CEO Eric Yang would stay on board. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.
