Townsquare Media Forms Strategic Digital Advertising Alliance with Steel City Media

Townsquare Media, Inc., a leading provider of digital advertising and marketing solutions for markets outside the top 50 in the United States, has officially announced a strategic partnership with Steel City Media, a multimedia company with dominant media assets in Pittsburgh and Kansas City. This new alliance, which was first hinted at in Townsquare’s pre-release of its 2024 financial projections, is poised to enhance both companies’ digital advertising capabilities.

The launch of the Media Partnerships division in 2024 marked a significant expansion of Townsquare’s Digital Advertising segment, also known as Townsquare Ignite. This division offers a white-label service, empowering other local media companies with the same powerful digital advertising tools that have contributed to Townsquare’s ongoing success. With digital advertising now accounting for over 50% of Townsquare’s total revenue and profit, this partnership with Steel City Media builds upon Townsquare’s established track record in the industry. The alliance introduces a collaborative approach that complements Steel City’s strong broadcast presence while helping them expand their digital footprint.

This partnership follows Townsquare’s previously announced collaboration with SummitMedia, and, importantly, covers two new markets that do not overlap with Townsquare or SummitMedia’s existing markets. By sharing its extensive expertise and resources, Townsquare aims to provide Steel City Media with customized, data-driven strategies tailored to the needs of local, regional, and national businesses. These efforts are designed to help Steel City Media grow its digital business while continuing to excel in the broadcast arena.
