Vimeo, a leading platform for video creators and businesses, has announced the appointment of Robert “Bob” Petrocelli as its new Chief Product & Technology Officer, effective September 9, 2024. With a rich background in technology, Bob will lead Vimeo’s global product and engineering teams, steering the company’s efforts to advance innovation, elevate the video experience, and deliver even more value to businesses, creators, and video professionals worldwide.
“As we accelerate our investments in innovation and position Vimeo for the future, having strong leadership in technology is crucial,” said Philip Moyer, Vimeo’s CEO. “Bob brings a wealth of experience in product leadership and a deep understanding of AI technology. His expertise will be vital as we sharpen our focus on strategy and continue delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.”
Bob joins Vimeo with over 35 years of experience in technology. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Pluralsight. Before that, he held similar roles at Intelerad Medical Systems and Datto, where he played a key role in driving the company’s IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Datto was later privatized in a deal worth USD 6.2 billion in 2022. Earlier in his career, Bob founded GreenBytes, which was acquired by Oracle in 2014. His journey in tech began as co-founder and CEO of Heartlab, a company specializing in cardiac imaging while pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Brown University. Heartlab was acquired by Agfa-Gevaert in 2005. Bob also holds degrees in physics and computer science from the University of Rhode Island.
