Google is introducing Web Guide, a new Search Labs experiment designed to streamline how users explore information online. This AI-organized search results page helps users navigate the web more efficiently by grouping relevant links in meaningful ways, making it easier to discover high-quality content.
Web Guide intelligently clusters search results around specific aspects of a user’s query—bringing clarity and context to complex or exploratory searches. Powered by a custom version of Gemini, Google’s latest AI model, Web Guide enhances the understanding of both user queries and web content to surface more relevant pages that users might otherwise overlook.
Similar to AI Mode, Web Guide utilizes a query fan-out approach, issuing multiple related searches simultaneously to capture a broader and deeper range of useful results.

For example, users might try open-ended searches like “how to solo travel in Japan” or more conversational queries such as, “My family is spread across multiple time zones. What are the best tools for staying connected and maintaining close relationships despite the distance?” In both cases, Web Guide delivers a more organized, topic-driven view of the search landscape.
Initially, Web Guide will be available to opted-in users under the Web tab in Search, where users can easily toggle back to the standard results view at any time. As the experiment evolves, Google plans to expand AI-organized results to other parts of Search, including the “All” results tab, based on user feedback and insights into how these features can enhance web discovery.
By testing Web Guide through Search Labs, Google continues to explore how generative AI can enrich and refine the search experience—making it faster, smarter, and more intuitive for users worldwide.
