Broadsign has acquired Place Exchange, a major independent supply-side platform (SSP) for out-of-home (OOH) media – in a deal backed by minority investment from Crestline Investors. The acquisition brings together Broadsign’s content management, ad serving, and buy/sell-side capabilities with Place Exchange’s programmatic SSP technology and global inventory, significantly strengthening Broadsign’s programmatic digital OOH (DOOH) offering. As a result, Broadsign publishers gain access to new demand sources while Place Exchange’s DSP partners and media buyers now can tap into Broadsign’s expanded international screen inventory.

The combined platform will support advanced features such as reach and frequency measurement, per-screen audience targeting, dynamic bidding, geospatial ad targeting, and DOOH measurement through Place Exchange’s PerView solution — tools that align DOOH with the planning, targeting, reporting and attribution workflows familiar from online and mobile advertising. The deal expands Broadsign’s global footprint to around 1.8 million programmatically transactable screens and increases its headcount to approximately 370 employees, positioning the company as a powerhouse in global OOH ad-tech.
