Snapchat has introduced Creator Subscriptions, a new monetization feature that lets fans pay monthly to support and engage more deeply with their favourite creators on the platform, adding a premium revenue layer atop existing programs like its Unified Monetization Program and Snap Star Collab Studio. Rolling out in alpha testing in the U.S. on February 23 with a select group of Snap Stars – including creators such as Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey and Skai Jackson – the subscriptions allow users to unlock exclusive Snaps and Stories, priority replies to public content and ad-free viewing of subscribed creators’ stories, all of which provide creators with a more predictable, recurring income stream.

Creators set their own monthly prices within the app, with Snapchat suggesting tier options, and retain a share of the revenue while gaining access to performance data to optimise their offerings. The company plans to expand the feature to more creators and regions – including Canada, the U.K. and France – in the coming weeks, reflecting Snapchat’s broader push to diversify its monetisation strategy and deepen fan engagement in an increasingly competitive social media landscape.
