Sinch Introduces Voice Relay to Enable Real-Time AI-Powered Phone Conversations

Sinch, which offers a global communications platform, has developed Voice Relay, which enables AI agents to be given a voice and be able to participate in real-time phone conversations. The technology, which was announced at the Enterprise Connect conference, enables developers to integrate text-based AI agents, which could be powered by large language models, with real-time phone conversations via Sinch’s global voice network. This technology helps to overcome the technical hurdles associated with the integration of AI with voice communications, which could include latency and the complexities of telecom infrastructure. This technology enables developers to integrate AI agents with real-time conversations via the simple interface, with the complexities of the infrastructure handled by the platform.

This allows companies to automate basic voice calls, reduce customer wait times, and improve issue resolution without having to create advanced voice solutions. There is also another set of enhancements for Sinch’s Enterprise Voice solution. These include voice infrastructure that is “AI-ready,” enhanced security for branded calling solutions, and expanded global network capacity. Sinch’s objective with the new capability to enable enterprises with AI-powered voice agents is to further solidify its position as the infrastructure layer for AI-powered customer interactions across voice, messaging, and email, and enable enterprises to offer more efficient customer interactions.
