New multi-year collaboration brings real-time, localised news updates to Out of Home audiences nationwide
In a major step forward for contextual content in Out of Home (OOH) advertising, oOh!media has announced a new multi-year partnership with Nine, enabling exclusive, real-time delivery of 9News content across oOh!’s large format digital billboard network.
Under this long-term agreement, Nine will supply over 50 news updates daily, seven days a week, with tailored content specific to regional and metropolitan areas. The 9News headlines will be displayed on 74 large format digital billboards spanning five capital cities—Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth—as well as in regional markets, including New South Wales’ Northern Rivers.
“The partnership with 9News is yet another step forward in our strategy to enhance the Out of Home experience by delivering high-quality, contextually relevant content at scale,” said Cathy O’Connor, CEO, oOh!media. “This initiative further reinforces oOh!’s commitment to making public spaces better by providing timely, attention-grabbing content that extends the value exchange for both audiences and our advertising partners.”
To support this innovation, oOh!’s in-house technology team joined forces with its creative and innovation studio, POLY, to develop a streamlined responsive design system. This custom solution simplifies the deployment of large format content at scale by enabling Nine and oOh! to manage a single template that intelligently adapts across seven unique digital billboard formats.

“We have been actively evolving our news product to ensure we are reaching our audience where they are in their day-to-day lives,” said Fiona Dear, Director of News & Current Affairs, Nine. “Whether that be on their daily commute, at work, or at home, we want our news content to be easy to consume and access. This partnership with oOh! is another piece to our puzzle, ensuring that we are broadening our distribution even further, and giving millions of Australians daily updates to keep them informed.”
This partnership with Nine further expands oOh!’s growing content network, which already includes prominent brands such as News Corp Australia’s news.com.au, The Australian, Vogue, and Broadsheet. These partnerships supply editorial content across oOh!’s Street Furniture, Fly, Study, and Office environments—enriching public spaces with timely, culturally relevant information.
“We are continuously innovating to make our Out of Home network a dynamic platform that engages audiences and delivers greater impact for advertisers,” said Bel Harper, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at oOh!. “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to scalable solutions for key partners such as Nine, who can leverage the scale of our premium digital network to deliver contextual news to more Australians every day.”
With this strategic collaboration, oOh!media continues to push the boundaries of digital Out of Home advertising, delivering real-time relevance and media-rich content experiences that resonate with today’s mobile and information-hungry audiences.
